Birthday Party at Ralph Klein Park

Yes that's right, there is a park named Ralph Klein, just south east of Calgary's city limits.

Both boys were invited to Cael's birthday. The park is a constructed wetland.

A City of Calgary Parks employee did the facilitating. They played a version of the animal game, made crafts, and learned about animals who live in the wetlands.

Cael's brother is the cutest baby.

Happy Birthday Cael!! He and Bobs have been buddies since they were babies. Next weekend is Joshua's birthday.

Goodbye San Diego :(

We had a late lunch at World Famous on Ocean Front.

Then we did a last play at the Pacific. We didn't have our shovels with us, so we played with the huge mounds of seaweed instead.

I think the storm brought them in, because they weren't there last time. We saw some city trucks picking them up. They are really big and heavy.

Jumping off cliffs is always fun, especially when there is a soft landing.

Beach Day

Our room faces the bay side and we decided today was a lazy beach day.

We rented a kayak and paddled around the bay. Daddy did most of the paddling.

Notice the yoga taking place on the paddle boards? Sarah, Kristin and I are going to have to try this over the summer at Gull Lake.

We also had coffee and a breakfast burrito on the ocean side. We met a family from LA who was originally from Germany.

San Diego Zoo

We started off at the petting zoo. Bobs isn't comfortable around animals but these goats are very gentle.

We have a photo of them last time in the same spot.

Their favourite place is of course the playground. I think they miss their friends at home.

We took a bus tour this time that we didn't realize was included in admission. They said the polar bears don't really know what ice and snow is about and they have to heat the pool up for them, or otherwise they won't enter it.

Here is an orangutang named Jamie. We had fun with that. Daddy even said his hair has a red shine to it.

We realize how lucky we are at home to have a great Zoo. This one is one of the best in the world, but we think some of our exhibits are comparable.

Goodnight San Diego

A view from the hotel room balcony. We are on Mission Bay.

We caught the sunset after dinner. Grandma would love the sights.

We don't need to take selfies, we have our son to take our photo for us!

We are so happy with the sunshine and warmer weather and really enjoyed our day. We feel blessed.

If only we could move here!
