Snow at the Cabin
We went to the cabin for three nights. Two as a family only and the last night, our friends joined us.
The locals say this area is in a snow bowl. No kidding. We had 4 times as much snow here as we do at home.
We had to do a lot of shovelling. Each day we went to Sylvan Lake to the indoor pool for a swim. Hardly anyone else was there. Bobs favourite sport is likely swimming.
Saturday afternoon, KK joined us with some snow shoes and cross country skis.
We did a quick tour before sunset.
Some snowmobiles and ATVs made paths for us.
By bedtime, Sarah and her family arrived and baby Seth started to explore.
Sunday morning, I cooked up a big breakfast for everyone.
We put on all our gear again for a last trek. KK wanted to see if the lake was frozen yet. It had a layer of slush.
Bobs made a snowman craft. JJ made a bunch with his friends names on them. Bobs decided to make one with 110 X meaning there are 110 people out there that he doesn't like. And 111 checkmark meaning there are 111 people that he does like. Somewhere. Out there. Funny guy!

Oh Yes We Just Did...
We put up our Christmas tree on November 17th. The Grey Cup hasn't even been played yet. American Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet.
It's also -18 to -10 today and the Christmas crowds are starting up, so why no stay at home and make it cozy? Bobs wanted the tree over where it used to be. Last year we had it next to the fireplace. He remembers it being by the front door when Shawn stayed with us.

Mads Plays Soccer
Every Saturday morning, Mads plays on the Pumpkin Tigers Soccer team.
Guess who is on his team? His old BFF from daycare, David!
He also has his neighbour Hugo on his team.
The 3 year olds can get very emotional during the games. Mads gets upset if he scores on the wrong goal, or if someone else from the other team scores on their own goal.

Cabin
It's official, we are the proud owners of a cabin at Gull Lake.
Gull Lake is 2 hours from Calgary. We don't have a lot of lakes nearby and this is one of the largest.
Three boys were able to join us on our last night and it was just like the good old times at Sarah's cabin.
We got quite the snowstorm...
As much fun as we had in the snow,
We barely got our cars dug out and...
We barely made it home! We nearly spent sunday night there.
It snowed way more in Central Alberta than it did in Calgary.
We anticipate many more wonderful weekends to come, and hope you can join us sometime!
