Earth Hour Weekend

Brooklyn, Tyson and their mommy came over on thursday and we made some paintings after lunch. The kids enjoyed bantering back and forth with their language skills.

Bobs fell asleep on friday afternoon on mommy and then on daddy and finally we were able to leave him on the couch for an entire afternoon of napping. He has been napping sporadically lately.

Do you remember a photo from about two months ago where Mads was making phone calls to Ontario? He still is, but as you can see, he has become more innovative.

Spring is Around the Corner

All little boys and girls love puddles. It's so nice to have the sun still out by the time Daddy gets home so we can go for an after dinner walk.

We really look forward to spring. I realize we can get snow for another two months in Calgary. I'll take what spring I can get!

New and Exciting Things

Pottying

We have been learning to not wear diapers, and how to use the potty, for real, for three days now. Bobs has been on the potty various times in the past year ( and longer), but never in a serious manner. He is familiar but he has told me many times he would rather wear a diaper. I have to admit that potty training for me, is much harder than breastfeeding or any other generally challenging part of parenting young ones. Daddy and I are not really that big on poops and pees showing up around our house. After holding off accepting pottying advice from friends, I am now open ears. 

Mads feels left out. He disturbs Bobs when he is trying to do his thing, so we have created another barrier for Mads so he can only watch and not splish splash splosh in the washroom with his older brother. 

Mads will be a year old in just over a month. I think I want to have a bigger party for him, than I have had for Bobs so far. We don't see our friends as often as we would like, so Mads' birthday party will be a good way to get everyone together.

Bobs has been letting go of some of his afternoon naps. Mads, on the other hand, has more of sleeping routine. He is finally sleeping from 7pm to 6am straight. And then enjoys a morning nap when we aren't out and about, and sometimes a nice afternoon nap if we are home for it.

Matching PJ's

Bobs chose these PJ's because as he is obsessed with the alphabet, and he knows U is for Universe, he thinks all spheres are part of the universe. I decided to get Mads a pair too so that these will be their first matching PJ's.

When I asked Bobs where his Morfar works, he had forgotten. So I said "The University". Bobs then said " Oohhhhh the universe!!!" I guess so....

It's Cupcake Time Again!

We had Cael and Joshua and their parents over for brunch. Brunch = Waffles at our house. We all had a really great time.

Joshua and Cael are both turning 3 this month. Cael's birthday is tomorrow so his mom brought cupcakes. Bobs definitely expects cupcakes at every birthday now. Cael barely touched his which is what Jansen did when it was his birthday. Birthday boy phenomenon? We will see in June.

On His Way To Walking And Eating Dirt

Mads took three steps a few times this week on his own. He also likes to cruise around with his walker.

I heard him spitting out something. It was dirt from the plant. Hopefully he learned his lesson.
