Hugo's Birthday Party

On friday, Mommy had the day off to spend with the kids. We had a playdate with Sam and her kids in the morning and then went to Dr. Singh's in the afternoon. 3/4 family members are now on antibiotics for earaches and sore throats.

Tyson and Mads are a good match. They are both tough.

On saturday morning, Bobs and Daddy had their last day of soccer and then it was time for Hugo's birthday party at North Glenmore Park.

It had been raining early, but for the party, it cleared up just long enough. It was ball themed just like Mads' party in April.

We had polish sausages and all the kids got baseball bats as party gifts.

There was also a fun pinata. All the kids had a turn, but eventually a parent had to poke the lethal hole.

We had red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing made by Hugo's mom.

Father's Day Gifts

Mommy has been sick most of the week. The boys wanted to snuggle to make her feel better.

Daddy got some gifts from the kids that were made at daycare. He was so impressed he said "Awww these are keepers!" They had little notes in them about how they want to be just like dad when the grow up.

This is what Mads does. He runs, not walks.

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers, Grandpa's, Morfar's Great Grandpa's and Uncles (honourary and real) in Mads and Bob's life. Most of the food had been eaten by the time I took a photo of it. Soccer ball napkins were placed out because Morfar was going straight home to watch the Denmark-Germany game with Uncle Helge when he got home from our brunch.

We were very fortunate with the weather. Bobs is still a bit ill, so he sat inside and coloured with all his new colouring gear with Daddy, and the rest of us went for a bike ride with Mads.

Mads nearly ran down a senior citizen with a walker. He made car noises at her and she laughed.

Erik's 4th Birthday Party

We celebrated Bob's 4th birthday today. Sadly, the little guy has been feeling sick all week. We nearly had to cancel the party, but we couldn't bear to do it so we went ahead.

His favourite colour is still purple, but he changes his mind and gives nearly all the other colours of the rainbow a chance.

I had some games ready for the kids, but they were all too shy to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey, except Elliott.

Then we had a scavenger hunt in the backyard. They had to hunt for smarties boxes.

We also tried Duck Duck Goose, but only the little toddlers wanted to play.

We ordered pizza, but I didn't count properly and we barely had enough for everyone. Oops!!

Bobs had spurts of energy here and there and enjoyed having his friends around to play with.

Elliott.

Aiden, Alyssa's little brother. Alyssa was at another birthday party.

Joshua who loves Buzz Lightyear so much!

Hugo who lives up the street and plays soccer just as well as Mads does.

Cael, who just got back from San Diego.

Jake and Jansen playing trains in the basement.

Bobs had just stubbed his toe before the cupcake lighting up time.

He was crying during his birthday song. It didn't help that he was feeling sick.

Most of the kids just ate the icing part.

There were two other birthday parties on the same street. One at every second house from ours. Mads and myself stopped at one after Bobs's was over. We had additional cupcakes there.

Mads knows how to say Happy Birthday To You!

Casey and his big brother Jansen. Something tells me they will share many future birthday parties with our boys.

Kris and Kris.

Daddy and Pat with a pillow as a buffer.

Uncle Helge Visits

The kids were happy to play with Uncle Helge today. Mads grabbed as much of his attention as he could.

Tomorrow is Bobs' birthday. We are having a big party. Sadly, Bobs is sick. We hope he recovers on time!

Just Like Grown Ups

Mads and Bobs want to be just like grown ups.

Maybe they will let us sleep in one day while they cook up a nice breakfast?

Photo Day at Soccer

The Green Dinosaur Princesses had their photo day yesterday. Daddy said it was hard to get all the kids and the parents to co-operate.

We are so glad that Bobs is enjoying the game so much because we think it's an excellent sport for the spring and summer.

Morfar is getting excited for the upcoming European Cup, so maybe now that Bobs plays the game, he can understand what Morfar is shouting at the TV for.

This is Bobs' friend from up the street, Jake. His mom invited us on the soccer team and we are so glad she did.
