First Weekend of December

The boys enjoy reading together now that Mads is interested and can sit up. It doesn't last for long though.

This weekend we had a get together on thursday organized by a friend where everyone had to bring in some type of take out or fast food. Bobs really enjoyed the company and everyone got to meet Shawn.

On friday we went to Home Depot to pick up the rest of the kitchen pieces that have been missing from the original order. I made a roast chicken for dinner. Saturday was date night for everyone. Shawn went out with a friend although he wasn't feeling that great as per usual in the evenings. Daddy and myself had a babysitter so we went for hot wings at Montana's and then that movie "Love and Other Drugs". We got home at the exact same time as Shawn. It felt great to get out and be a normal person for an evening, and not just full time parents with two kids crawling over us. As much as we love them.

Bobs has a wooden banana and he was telling the babysitter that he wanted the banana phone ( based on the Raffi song) in his bed with him. She had no idea what he was talking about even though she tried looking for it. She is from the Netherlands and so she had never heard of Raffi either.

On sunday, we went to an inside Farmer's Market called Crossroads Market. It is much rougher and less pretentious than the Farmer's Market closer to our house. It had more of a flea market feel to it. Daddy enjoyed seeing something new that he had never done before in the city. We took a photo of Bobs and I eating breakfast but it turned out awful of me with a sausage hanging out of my mouth.

This week, we have hired a cleaning company to come in to the house and help. Mostly to keep Shawn's area clean so he doesn't have to worry about it. Our countertop for the kitchen is also coming in. Just in time for Christmas ( as we will be gone next week to Ottawa and by the time we are back, Christmas will be creeping up on us!).

It was a nice weekend. Mads is starting to be able to stand and hang on to things by himself. He makes all kinds of cute noises and is so excited to see Bobs in the morning.

Whenever I call Mads or Bobs by one of their many nicknames, Bobs is always correcting me with their actual names. I can't even call Bobs "Sweetie".
