James and Blanca had a housewarming party at their new house on the same side of the city as us. It's right behind the ski jump of Canada Olympic Park. We haven't seen a lot of our friends in ages, so it was great to catch up. There were quite a few other kids there as well. Mads really enjoyed the 8 and 10 year old. Elliott is James' nephew. He is here with his grand dad.
Bobs was a lot more shy, and we didn't realize this so much until last night. He needed his parents right there with him when he met new kids. Even a somewhat familiar 3 year old friend Amelia made him shy. He warms up eventually though.
We haven't seen Carrie in awhile and it was good to catch up. The BBQ was a potluck and she brought some chicken wings from a Michael Buble recipe. I hadn't realized he is a cook. We made last minute chocolate cupcakes.
There was so much food, that James didn't need to cook up burgers as we were all stuffed within minutes.
Mads was handling himself really well until an adult told him to not go down the stairs, because he thought Mads would hurt himself. (Really he is ok now on stairs). His feelings were so hurt. He was inconsolable.
