We are continuing to have excellent weather, so we went to the Glenmore Spray Park yesterday and it was packed! Parking was tricky and shade was scarce.
Today we left the house early to get a parking spot and beach spot at Sikome Lake, pretty much Calgary's only beach within the city. It is a human made lake and rather small, but we will take it!
We got there before it opened and had to wait outside the gates. Good thing we stopped at Tim Horton's on the way with some timbits and coffee for Mom. Get this - a person 6 cars in front of us had done the pay forward thing so our treats were free!
The imported sand is nice and soft but the boys have been spoiled this summer with beaches and didn't really want to stay very long.
We headed over to the playground without shoes on.
Now we are home cleaning the house and maintaining the neglected yard. We have a BBQ to host coming up this weekend and two birthday parties to attend on the street. Ahhh summertime. We cherish every bit of it.
