Hello June

June is a wonderful month. Father's Day, Bobs' birthday, the end of the school year, and warmer months to come.

We had just our family up at the cabin this weekend and being only two weeks since we were a there last, we still saw many wonderful changes. Pelicans, Canada Geese, and leaves and greenery were everywhere.

Wonder what type of wish this is? I think Gull Lake only has Pike and Walleye.

We didn't bring our swimsuits as I didn't think it would be warm enough.

We had some quiet time to read and slow down which is really nice.

Only kids can really fit in this hammock as the stand isn't strong enough to hold much more than 100 pounds.

We saw some kids swimming in the lake. Crazy Albertans soaking up as much lake time as they can, I suppose.

They didn't have chocolate ice cream, so I picked out Rainbow ( tiger and bubblegum being gross to me ) for Mads.

We learned a bit more about the area and in the local annual area promotional magazine, saw that there is a Central Alberta Raceways track that had a race on saturday evening. We promised Mads that we would go.

Sadly, after finding it, but nobody at the gates, we saw online on Daddy's cell phone that the races had been cancelled due to too much rain in the days prior. There are more races and mud bogs to come this summer, but Mads was very very disappointed. I tried to teach him the meaning of that word based on this experience.

We came back and had roasted marshmallows instead. Daddy also cut the lawn with our old reel mower.

We found the resident gnome last time we were here, but have again failed to name him. Any suggestions?

We also had a plumber up to fix the heating coils on the hot water tank that were burned out accidentally over the winter on one visit when we must have flipped the wrong switch.
