On our first day hiking in the Redwoods, we decided to try one of the harder hikes first. We obtained a permit from the visitor centre and did a 6 kilometre hike right in the middle of the park.
Aside from the steep climb back up, it was a good hike and the kids impressed us.
Here is Daddy punching the special code in to get the gate open. Only a certain number of people per day were allowed to drive the dirt road into the Tall Trees Grove hiking area.
We packed lots of water and snacks and the kids were proud of themselves afterward.
Restaurants are scarce in the Redwoods, and there are really no grocery stores.
