Kicking Horse Pass, Field and Home

After a sleepless night at the Super 8 in Revelstoke, we were on our way again. Sharing a room with Mads can be difficult as he moves and talks in his sleep.

We stopped just after Golden and before the Kicking Horse Pass that was completed in 2007. I haven't been through that area since 1998 when our friends from Denmark visited and we went to the Shushwaps. I laughed at a memory of one of our friends jumping in the cold mountain lake and was in shock. He immediately came back out of the water and then threw up because he couldn't tolerate it. It hadn't occurred to me to warn him about how cold the water is.

The kids travelled extremely well. We made sure to give Mads some gravol for his motion sickness issues and it seemed to work. I used to throw up as a kid as well, especially near Golden.

We stopped in Field, BC along with many other motorists. It was fun to interact with other travellers. Tour busses, motorcycle clubs, families and picnickers with dogs.

We are home now and reflecting back on the trip memories while also enjoying home sweet home. It's nice to see the green trees and grass that we expected to return to.
