Mads' Baptism and visit from Ike

Happy Baptism Mads! All his friends came out to see his big day. There were about 7 babies there and many toddlers. Fr. Edmund joked that he was baptizing 10 kids today, but really he was only baptizing Mads and another baby from another group. I think our group disrupted their baptism experience.

When we went up to the baptism font in the back of the church where nobody really got to go except the Godparents and parents, we left Bobs in the pew with his Mormor and Morfar, and he was really upset by this and shouted "Daddy !! Daddyyyyyy Mommy!!!" for the entire duration of the baptism. Finally we just brought him over to us.

Mads wore the same outfit that Bobs wore. I made it up... it's not an official outfit. It has a diaper cover and socks and bib from Portugal, and a shirt from Toys R Us.

Mads had a really happy day and we are glad to welcome him into the Faith.

AMK and Joachim are the Godparents.

After the baptism we had a little party at our house. Bobs had dinner with Maria's boys.

Bobs and Emily and Jansen played in the backyard.

Mads and Ike don't mind sharing the playpen.

The weather was sunny and the rainy and the sunny and then rainy.

Hopefully the boys will be great friends when they get older.

Here are all of the boys produced from Kristin, AMK and myself.

Tummy Time and Double Strollers

Jansen and Casey came over today and we went for a walk up Signal Hill. All four boys enjoyed it. Can you believe we are walking four boys when we get together?

I hope Mads and Casey become good friends like Bobs and Jansen have.

Bobs helps Mads with tummy time. Mads needs to practice on his tummy since babies now need to sleep on their backs to prevent SIDS. Most babies dislike tummy time. Bobs did... and Mads isn't a huge fan.

I think he might enjoy it more if Bobs can show him how to do it.

Come on Mads! Lift your head!

This is just a final photo... me at the end of the day yesterday. I was quite exhausted as Bobs skipped his nap. Daddy and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary by going to Marble Slab Ice Cream for a special treat. Bobs was apprehensive about trying an ice cream. I even showed him the licking action. Once I explained that it was like chocolate, he tried some on a spoon and enjoyed it even though it was cold for him.

Dishes and Views

Bobs likes to help Mommy do the dishes. He just loves water. At Jansen's house, there are big buckets of water in the back yard, and a great variety of kids gardening tools to throw water and dig dirt with.

Mads has been doing some more tummy time, and he really enjoys seeing the world from different perspectives.

We think he looks entirely different from Bobs now, but they do still look like brothers.

Mormor Visits

Mormor is back from Denmark and she came right away to meet little Mads. We also got some gifts from relatives in Denmark.

Bobs had his haircut - below is a before photo of course. He cried after a few minutes because he didn't like what was going on, and I am sure the sound of the buzzer didn't help.

Because he isn't in daycare anymore, I have to remember to keep him engaged in arts and crafts. so we finger painted for a little while. It's hard to just "let him be" and not clean up after every immediate mess...

Visitors and Moby Wrap

This is that Moby Wrap I was talking about. All soft cloth. Not bad. But if Mads get upset in in, and I am out walking with it on, I am in trouble!

AMK gave me this soother holder. Emily's mom also made one for Mads. I have seen Emily's mom make all kinds of things actually. I bet she could make herself a Moby Wrap too.

James came to visit. He is getting married on June 12th and we are all going except for Bobs who is having a sleepover at Mormor and Morfar's that night.
